About Us

Up North Kids is the resource that I always wished for as a parent. It’s all the best parts of family-friendly Northern Michigan, in one place, whenever you need it.
After moving back to Traverse City with three young kids, I struggled to find opportunities to explore the area with my kids in tow. I didn’t have a resource at my fingertips to help me figure out what we were going to do in the rain, in the heat, in the snow, and all the other conditions that we know and love.
I love Northern Michigan – the beaches, the nature, the ‘Up North’ way of living, the way I feel when I see the water. There’s nothing like it. I want other people, visitors and locals alike, to know that Northern Michigan has great breweries and incredible wineries but it’s also a really awesome place for kids.signature
